Bungalow Technical Revision and Drafting Project

Objective:

The objective of this project was to conduct a technical revision and create detailed drafting of a bungalow designed for a suburban area, ensuring full compliance with local building codes and standards. The aim was to refine the design to meet the functional and aesthetic requirements of the client while maximizing space on the designated lot.

Scope of Work:

As a Civil Engineering Draftsperson, I was responsible for revising the existing plans and producing accurate technical drawings that reflected the client’s needs while adhering to Iranian regulations.

My Role and Contributions:

• Collaboration with Project Managers: Worked closely with project managers to review and refine the initial design, ensuring effective communication of project goals. Engaged in discussions to optimize the layout, focusing on enhancing both usability and functionality within the bungalow’s overall design.
• Detailed Drafting Using AutoCAD and Revit: Employed AutoCAD and Revit to produce detailed technical drawings, which included:
  • Floor Plans: Created precise floor plans highlighting three bedrooms, a spacious living area, and an alfresco space designed for outdoor enjoyment. Attention was paid to room placement for optimal flow and accessibility.
  • Structural Drawings: Developed structural drawings illustrating essential components such as foundations, support beams, and load-bearing walls, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and local building regulations.
  • Elevation Drawings: Produced elevation drawings to represent the exterior design and materials used, providing a comprehensive overview of the bungalow’s aesthetic features.
• Technical Documentation: Developed comprehensive technical documentation, including:
• • Specifications for all materials, ensuring that every element conformed to quality and safety standards.
  • Detailed design calculations demonstrating the structural viability of the proposed layouts, including load calculations for various building components.
• Site Analysis and Compliance Checks: Conducted thorough site analyses to evaluate site-specific conditions, such as soil conditions and nearby infrastructure, integrating findings into the design to preemptively address potential construction challenges. Ensured that all designs met local construction codes and environmental regulations.
• Incorporating Stakeholder Feedback: Actively engaged with stakeholders, including clients and construction teams, to gather feedback throughout the design process. Incorporated their insights into the revisions, enhancing the design’s functionality and aesthetic aspects based on practical considerations.
• Quality Assurance: Participated in quality assurance inspections during the drafting process to ensure all drawings and documents met the required standards and specifications. This included checking for accuracy in measurements, compliance with regulations, and overall coherence in the design documentation.
• Regulatory Reporting: Prepared and submitted various reports for regulatory compliance, detailing design specifications, construction methods, and material selections, ensuring all aspects met Iranian building codes (ISIRI).

This project demonstrated my capabilities as a Civil Engineering Draftsperson, highlighting my expertise in technical drafting, design optimization, and strict adherence to regulatory standards in Iran. It showcased my commitment to producing high-quality work that aligns with client expectations while ensuring safety and compliance with industry requirements.
